About SCTP
The Scholastic Clay Target Program provides school-age
participants in grades 12 and under with the opportunity to
showcase their competitive shooting skills and earn state
and national recognition. The program is designed to instill
in participants safe firearms handling, commitment,
responsibility, leadership and teamwork.
The Scholastic Clay Target Program is a cooperative effort
between the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the
firearms industry's largest and most diverse trade
association with 2,200 members, and the governing bodies for
trapshooting, skeetshooting and sporting clays shooting -
the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA), the National
Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and the National Sporting
Clays Association (NSCA), respectively.
About the Jr.
Rams
The Northern Colorado Jr.
Rams is based in Northern Colorado to promote the SCTP
program to families with school aged children along the
Front-Range of Northern Colorado. Currently we have kids
competing in the Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays disciplines.
We promote the shotgun
sports with the hope that all family members will get
involved with their children in their endeavor to become
proficient shotgun shooters now and for the rest of their
lives. It is our hope that the kids that go through the Jr.
Rams program will continue to pursue the many opportunities
that are available to them after
they have graduated from
high school.
Movin' On Up
After graduating
from high school, more and more SCTP shooters each year are
going on to compete in college. Take a look at this year's
ACUI Intercollegiate Clay Target Championships, the biggest
event of the college clay target season.
